As we talked about wrapping up Teaching Tangents, we looked at what we enjoyed about the previous show and came up with this thing. Even though it might be an unusual mix, we like the idea of chatting about a variety of random topics of mutual interest, we enjoy it being live streamed, and we do’nt really want to spend editing or promoting it. I suppose it’s a dance like nobody’s watching, but pretend like they might, well because they could if they wanted to. We tend to talk about books and articles we read, movies, music, personal knowledge management and note-taking apps, technology, teaching, marketing, roller coasters, games, even played roleplaying games. It’s a mixed bag.
Teaching Tangents
The show is complete, though the content is evergreen and still watchable. In every episode of Teaching Tangents, business and psychology professor James D’Souza asks Willem a question from a student or young person, that they broadly discuss and strive to answer in an hour-long Youtube Live. The show is also available in audio only podcast format on Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Ice Cream for Everyone video podcast
In the midst of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, I began experimenting with recording and publishing episodes of the usually audio podcast in video format. The whole podcast is kind of on hiatus at the moment.
