Playful Strategy Weekly: Man, Play, and Games 1.4 “Unproductive”

Playful Strategy Weekly is an Ice Cream for Everyone series of short videos in which I share elements, thoughts, and illustrations from a variety of play related books and articles I read. In the third episode, we continue with the definition of play as an activity from the seminal Man, Play, and Games from French sociologist Roger Caillois.

In the book, he defines play as an activity containing six main characteristics, or qualities. The fourth one is “unproductive.”

I illustrate the points made in the video thanks to Porsche’s The Heist Big Game 2020 advert, and The Longest Wait from private jet line JSX.
